General Scholarship Fund -
Through the generosity of members and organizations, students are
given the opportunity to participate in the Irish Way. All
donations received are distributed among Scholarship applicants
based on their need.
Honor/Memorial Scholarships - Honoring a loved one through a Memorial Scholarship can be a rewarding experience for the recipient and the donors. It allows your loved one's name to be a conduit for a student to further their understanding of their heritage. You may choose to write a description of your fund and have it included on our Irish Way Scholarship page. We also would be happy to include a photo if you like. You can designate your gift to be
used for a scholarship that you name. By law, the selection process
has to be a fair and open competitive process, available to all
qualified applicants. However, you can list the attributes or
qualifications that you would like your recipient to have (e.g.
male/female, state, family background, etc.) or you may choose
to allow the Irish Way Scholarship Committee to choose the
recipient. A minimum donation of $1000 is required to
establish a named scholarship. Gifts of less than $1000 can be
designated towards the general scholarship fund.* *The Irish Way is a program of the Irish American Cultural Institute, a not-for-profit organization. As such, all donations are tax deductible. |
The Irish Way is a blend of all things Irish. Students may begin their day with a history lesson, followed by surfing and wrapping up with a cooking lesson. This music video, by the Surfchixx (who just happens to be fronted by our own Irish Way/Adventure Ireland Coordinator, Niamh Hamill) was just one of their exciting adventures.
